ABOUT THE COURSE
This course is intended to give women the core knowledge and confidence to safely use simple hand tools and timber to create your own projects at home. Your friendly tutor, Danielle, will help your build a chosen item to take home at the end of the day. Select from a variety of projects including a tool caddy, platter, planter or bird box. You will be working in a small class of six women so there will be plenty of support from your tutor.
During the day, you will learn about other tools that you may find at home, opening up the world of DIY in a welcoming, supportive environment where no question is a silly question.

ABOUT THE TUTOR
I am trained in traditional wooden boat building and have worked in a number of boatyards over the years. I then took a position as workshop manager at a Wood Recycling Project reusing timber, saving it from landfill and making beautiful products. The project gave volunteers, many of whom were struggling to get back into work, skills to take forwards with them in future careers. I found during my time with the project that women were often the least confident but most able to produce quality, well thought-out items.
