ABOUT THE COURSE
A series of guided meditation workshops, each with an individual flavour. Jonathon will guide you gently through meditations and natural connection practices designed to restore your connection with nature and to bring healing to yourself and the land to which we all belong.
April: Enter the Wild Wood - Our meditation sessions go into the heart of the spiritual traditions of the Western lands bringing together the latest ecological science alongside the ancient stories of the land we belong to. Our oldest traditions work perfectly alongside the current scientific discoveries as they bring peace and calmness from the very natural systems that support us. In this session you will set-up or renew a meditation practice that will hold you in challenging times alongside discovering the incredible lore of the trees. These evenings provide participants the skills to practise at home to aid their wellbeing.
June: Connecting to the Animal kingdoms - In this session we shall deepen our meditation practice by turning our senses within to experience the joy of the world. What could be more astonishing than pollinating insects, more exquisite than our flowers or more breathe-taking than the views of the landscape? The poet, Wordsworth, calls it the ‘harvest of the quiet eye’ and Blake speaks of ‘seeing heaven in a wildflower.’ This is achieved through the simple process of nature connection and, in meditation, receiving the support of nature through connecting with animals.
July: Connecting to the Plant Kingdoms - Plants provide us with materials, medicine and food as well as being joyous and uplifting. In this session, we shall look at their practical qualities and use; how they can help us connect to our inner worlds and learn ways our ancestors worked with them to bring healing. We all need something bigger than our problems to shelter and hold us in difficult times and a focus to help give us purpose, clarity and insight.
These sessions are suitable for all people of all abilities and experience. You can opt to buy any single meditation or attend all three for a deeper learning experience. Our friendly evening meditations are ideal for all who would like to switch-off from a sometimes overwhelming world and have proven beneficial for busy minds and for those with ASD, ADHD and anxiety.
