We have some fantastic tutors running wood carving and green woodwork training courses at our learning centre in the Hampshire South Downs, near Petersfield. Learn how to carve a spoon or make your own shrink pot from locally grown sustainable timber.

Learn how to whittle a spoon, spatula and butter knife on this one day wood carving course.

tRUG making course

This course will cover the construction of a traditional trug made from sweet chestnut and white willow. Learn from a professional trugmaker how to cleave, shave, steam-bend and soak the wood and make your own garden trug.

Unwind in the Woods

​Combining meditation and an introduction to basic whittling techniques, this workshop will give you the time and space to get away from a hectic everyday life and connect with nature. 

WOODWORKING SKILLS FOR WOMEN

Design your own project, such as a tray or bird box, which you will plan and build on the day, under expert tuition. Learn the best techniques for using tools, with top tips to help women with smaller hands use tools effectively. ​
