ABOUT THE COURSE
A half-day training course learning to make willow obelisk plant supports for the garden at our training centre in the Hampshire South Downs. Use willow grown at our Centre to create a beautiful obelisk for climbing plants like sweet peas. All materials and most tools will be provided. We ask that you bring your own secateurs if you have some.
THE COURSE WILL GIVE YOU
- The ability to make an obelisk from willow
- Knowledge on how to select suitable materials
- Understanding of how to grade, dry, store and soak willow
- Knowledge about the ecological credentials of willow
THIS COURSE IS SUITABLE FOR
Those with some manual dexterity, hand strength and patience! If you have a recent injury, please check with us first.
WHAT TO BRING/WEAR
- Warm, weather-appropriate work clothes.
- This course will take place in our outdoor Woodland Classroom.
- An apron (optional)
- Sharp secateurs
- Please make sure your vehicle has room to take your obelisk home!
