Low Income Discount
We believe everyone should have access to learning and skills, regardless of income and as such, we are delighted to be able to offer one place per course at 50% discount to those on a low income. If you have a combined household income of £15k or under per annum and would like to be considered for this discount, please contact the courses team and, subject to availability, we would be delighted to help you.
Bill Mollison permaculture bursary
In memory of Bill Mollison, the "father of permaculture", we offer an annual bursary funded by our Charity – the Earthworks Trust, to enable at least one student place to be offered, at no cost to the student, on our Introduction to Permaculture Design Course every year.
Positioned in the heart of the South Downs National Park, The Sustainability Centre offers an idyllic location for learning. The Centre is spread across 55 acres of woodland and natural chalk downland. Within the site we have a number of training spaces to suit the range of courses we offer. These include: an indoor classroom, a woodland classroom with fireplace, a woodwork workshop and two peaceful forest teaching spaces. The site also has numerous examples of sustainable practices, from yurts to willow coppicing, wildlife garden to solar energy.

Our tutors are experts in their fields and experienced teachers, so you can be always be sure of receiving a high standard of training. We also limit participant numbers on our courses to ensure you get the time and attention you need with your tutor.
Accommodation Discount for Courses
Our accommodation options include: Bed and Breakfast in the South Downs Eco Lodge, camping and yurts. Our hostel with a self-catering kitchen is available on selected dates. Please check availability on our accommodation pages. You can get 10% discount when you stay with us during your course for 2 nights or more in our campsite or eco lodge. The Beech Cafe
Our on-site café provides the catering for our multi-day courses. The café offers an array of delicious organic, Fair Trade, vegetarian and vegan food, ranging from homemade soup to a hearty ploughman's, to Moroccan Tagine or Cajun spiced halloumi skewers. They also provide a wide range of delicious teas, coffees, home-made organic ice creams and soft drinks and are renowned for their fabulous cakes, including banana and pecan cake, carrot cake and flapjacks.
