Attending a Funeral
BEFORE YOU COME
Please ensure that you dress for the outdoors and bring footwear suitable for our site. Wellies or walking shoes may be advisable particularly in wet weather. The service may be inside in our Green Room, in the Woodland Hall which is indoor/outdoor space or in woodland itself beside the grave. WHEN YOU ARRIVE Please park your car in the car park and make your way to The Beech Cafe or Woodland Hall as directed by staff. THE CEREMONY Once the ceremony is concluded the coffin will be taken to the graveside by hand bier or horse-drawn bier followed by mourners or on foot. For any people who are not able to walk this far we have a vehicle that can take you down to the site. At the graveside there will often be a ceremony before the coffin is laid in its final resting place. You can place flowers at the graveside if those are the wishes of the family, but we ask that no cellophane, ribbons or oasis are included. |
BURIAL SITE ETIQUETTE
