Foraging, Fire and Folklore

A series of seasonal events, each one a special experience of wild food foraging, Celtic fire and folklore. Bushcraft and Celtic folklore specialist, Jonathon Huet, will take you on a guided walk to forage for wild food and impart his knowledge on different native trees in each season.

Spoon Carving

Learn how to carve a spoon, spatula and butter knife on this wood carving course in the Hampshire South Downs. Our tutor, Chris Matthews, will teach you how to use a knife, saw, crook knife and axe to whittle items from locally- harvested green wood.

Kitchen Gardening Weekends

A four day course, split over two weekends, on creating and managing a successful and abundant food garden. The course will include hands-on practical sessions and all the theory you need to make your kitchen garden grow and keep your larder full.

Garden designer and plantsman, Tom Nielsen, will cover how to create immersive, relaxing outdoor spaces you will immediately want to spend time in.

Nature Led Meditation celebrating Samhain

Samhain marks the end of the harvest season in autumn and the beginning of winter. This evening of story, poetry and meditation to enable the participant to recharge and experience deep peace and joy. This session will be held in our new outside heated structure and not the Woodland Hall. We hope you can join us.

Hedgelaying Course

On this training course in Hampshire, you will gain practical, hands on experience in the ancient art of hedgelaying (South of England style). A local hedge will be laid using traditional tools i.e. billhook, broad axe and hand saws.

Join us on these fun, half-day festive decoration courses. Our friendly tutor, Mollie McMillen, will show you how to make sustainable willow decorations. Weave these charmingly rustic creations to adorn your home for Yuletide. We will supply the willow, trimmings, and foraged sprigs to add finishing details, plus ideas for displaying and reusing your item year after year.
