Beech Cafe
Perhaps it's all the fresh air we get up here, and the great outdoors but we guarantee you will work up an appetite.
The Beech Cafe offers an array of delicious vegetarian and vegan food. So stop by for anything from home made soup, a hearty ploughman's or a hot meal from their specials board, or enjoy a fresh coffee with a slice of their yummy vegan cake or in the warmer months sample some of their homemade ice-cream. |
South Downs Natural Burials
Nestling under a canopy of broadleaf trees and a yew grove, our natural burial site lies in a peaceful and secluded corner of The Sustainability Centre.
Our burial site is bordered on three sides by woodland, creating a true sense of intimacy and privacy. Part of the South Downs National Park, the south side overlooks a 50-acre sheep pasture and, on a clear day, gives breath-taking views across Hampshire down to the coast. Many families have found great comfort here, laying their loved ones to rest with natural and simple dignity. |
Rustic Benches
Our benches are lovingly hand crafted in the heart of the South Downs National Park at The Sustainability Centre. Each one is made with love and care with every detail carefully considered.
Our products are made with locally sourced materials and have natural quirks to make each piece unique and individual. |
Green Beans Parent and child Group
The Green Beans meet every Thursday 10.30am - 12.30pm at the Beech Cafe (term time).
Each session may include art/crafts based on a seasonal theme or we may work in our 'Greenbeans' allotment, digging, sowing, planting or harvesting - learning about the seasonal cycles. Sessions are £6 per child (+ £4 per sibling) bookable on a half termly basis. There is also an opportunity for parents to chat over coffee and cake, have a walk in the beautiful woods and enjoy outdoor play. The sessions are aimed at 2-8 year olds (approx) but we welcome children of all ages, from bumps and babies, toddlers and home educated children. |
Portsmouth & District Bee Keeping Association
We welcome all persons interested in beekeeping and any activities associated with beekeeping. You do not have to own any hives if you cannot or do not want to or feel you are not experienced enough yet in managing bees. You will be welcome to join us at our monthly meetings, field days and beekeeping courses.

Fitzroy Support Rural Skills Centre Project
FitzRoy’s Rural Skills Project supports people with learning disabilities to develop confidence, skills and a sense of wellbeing by working in a rural setting. The current rural skills project opened in 2011 and is located at the Sustainability Centre in East Meon, near Petersfield.
Up to 12 adults can attend each day, learning how to cultivate herbs, fruit and vegetables which are sold to the public. If you choose to join our rural skills team we will help you to learn how to maintain the grounds, get involved in woodcraft and grow patio pot plants and hanging baskets. All proceeds go straight back into the project. |
Hampshire Bee Keeping Association
New beekeepers can join one of the fourteen local associations in Hampshire, which offer various benefits and opportunities. These include apiary training days, support for BBKA Exams and Modules, and social events such as BBQs and Christmas Dinners.
By joining an association, you become part of a support network that will help you throughout your beekeeping journey. |
