SPONSOR A ROOM IN THE ECO LODGE
MAKE YOUR MARK

In the final stages of our eco retrofit of the South Downs Eco Lodge we are inviting you, our wonderful supporters, to help dress and equip the new rooms, with many levels of sponsorship to match any budget.

WHATS CHANGING
When finished the new wing will provide a further eleven new B & B rooms. All will be en suite with double rooms, twin rooms, triple and a family room.

NATIVE TREES
Each room is themed with a native tree from our woodland. Using sustainability principals we are choosing or making art and furnishings from natural, sustainable or recycled resources, which makes each room unique.

Your sponsorship will be used for a range of projects and purchases. You can express a preference for a room to contribute to or sponsor. If you donate £2000 then you will become the sole sponsor of a room of your choice. No matter how large or small we would love to hear from individuals, businesses or organisations.

Weaving from the Hedges

Why not be inspired to weave from the hedges. A Brigid cross is a small cross usually woven from rushes. Typically it has four arms tied at the ends and a woven square in the middle. Historically, there were also three-armed versions too

Watch this delightful short film, where you can join Louise crafting away in her shed, her voice telling the tale of making a St Brigid Cross. Take some time to listen to this soothing creators poem. Set to music it resonates with the changing seasons, the promise of spring and the satisfaction of making from natural materials.

On The Wild Side

This blog makes a case for letting the wild in to all garden spaces and working with and not against nature in our own back yards. Taking a look at how to achieve a bio-diverse mix between a formal garden and an untamed wild wood. With the current focus on re-wilding and creating more diverse nature spaces, how much intervention is appropriate and how much interaction will be right?

Herbs for Health Blog

On this beautiful sunny day we have been out picking local cleavers for a refreshing tea. For once, it’s possible to forage from the hedgerows alongside country lanes as there are no polluting cars about!

There are lots of herbs that can boost your immune system and our herb expert, Sarah Hillyer has written a blog all about giving your health a boost this May.

Composting

If you want to start composting or improve your composting then Rachel, who manages our Garden and Volunteers Team has lots to say. Composting not only reduces rubbish going to landfill, it means that you can grow more food for free. So start saving your organic food scraps and turning them into "plant food."

Questions Answered
How do I set up a compost bin?
What can I compost?
How can I get good and balanced compost?
Is there anything I can't compost?
How long does composting take?
How can I use my compost?

Now is a time to stay calm and connected to nature. Our Woodland Bard and tutor, Jonathon Huet, has recorded this wonderful guided meditation.

Being in nature uplifts our mind and body and many look to nature as a place for healing and personal growth. With
Jonathon's guided meditation you can deepen your connection to nature and allow it to infiltrate your entire life.
