ABOUT THE COURSE
Learn the techniques to build a clay oven at our beautiful site in the Hampshire South Downs. Participants will learn how to construct the oven from builder’s sand, clay, wood shavings and bricks. The course includes a pizza meal cooked in a completed cob oven.

WHAT TO BRING
- Old working clothes to get dirty in!
- Stout footwear/wellies
This course takes place outdoors, with marquees set up for shelter on rainy days.
ABOUT THE TUTOR
Sara has built clay ovens in back gardens and with school groups in school grounds. She remembers the first pizza she tried that was cooked in a clay oven as the best pizza she has ever eaten. Sara is an experienced Forest School Practitioner, a biologist by training (her PhD is in forest entomology) and is an Accredited Practitioner of the Institute for Outdoor Learning. She is also a volunteer Director of the Forest School Association. Sara says: "There is something about the simplicity of cooking in a clay oven, the wood, the fire, fresh air and good company that makes for a relaxed and enjoyable experience."
