10:00 - 17:00 ABOUT THE COURSESpend the day immersed in creating your own basket using willow grown at The Sustainability Centre. The top of your basket will not be closed but rather will have long willow wands for growing climbing plants such as sweet peas.
THE COURSE WILL GIVE PARTICIPANTS
WHO IS THIS COURSE SUITABLE FOR?Some willow craft experience would be beneficial. Reasonable manual dexterity, hand strength and patience is required.
WHAT TO BRING/WEAR
ABOUT THE TUTORLouise Arthur specialises in willow weaving and environmental education. She is highly skilled at making baskets from sustainable willow and foraged hedgerow materials. These natural, biodegradable, little gems reflect the biodiversity of our countryside hedges and range in colour, texture and form. Louise is an exceptional teacher who has years of experience running outdoor education sessions with the Forestry Commission and at The Sustainability Centre. As an experienced workshop leader, she is passionate about sharing her love of willow crafts with adults and children. |
