ABOUT THE COURSE
Join us for this day course and learn how to create your own decorative asymmetric willow basket topped with a rustic driftwood-type handle at our Centre in the Hampshire South Downs. Our friendly tutor, Amanda Rayner, will take you through the stages and different techniques involved with weaving this basket offering help where needed.
Amanda will show you how to weave a round base using a simple 2-rod pairing weave then you will tackle putting on the upset waling. Following on, you will discover how to weave a double and triple French rand – the simple track border and, to finish, the rustic handle will be attached using a Japanese knot.
At the end of the course, proudly take your beautiful basket home. These sculptural baskets are a fabulous piece for around the home or out and about.
