Our Sustainability Wheel
Here at the Sustainability Centre we practice and promote Sustainability, which we believe is all about treating the Earth as if we intend to stay. It means living in the best way that we can for longevity of the planet.
We aim to embed sustainable practices in to every part of our administration, site, charity, teaching and activities.
We do this in order to demonstrate achievable ways for individuals, organisations and businesses, to become greener and more sustainable, without damaging the local and global environment.

The Wheel
We have created The Sustainability Wheel as a model to measure sustainable practices within our own charity. We also use it to help other organisations to develop greener and more sustainable ways of working.
It is based on the well established "Permaculture Principals" of Earth Care, People Care and Fair Shares. Within each of these three principals we have identified the key areas that are crucial to achieveing a fully sustainable organisation.

The Charter
Along side the Wheel comes our Sustainability Charter, which is a method of scoring an organisation in each of the above areas. This is one of the ways we measure our sustainable practices and help other organisations to do the same.
