ABOUT THE COURSE
A health and wellbeing workshop focused on herbal medicine and awareness. This powerful one day course will engage us with the techniques needed to build resilience using only natural and intuitive processes; offering ideas, knowledge and tools we can use to strengthen and bring resilience and wellbeing into everyday life. Whether we are facing physical or stress-related challenges, this highly practical course will deepen our pool of resources and strengthen our resilience in facing life’s challenges.
We will look at how different herbs can be used to develop both physical and emotional resilience; and we will learn how to identify and prepare teas using some locally growing herbs.
We will explore concepts in awareness including breath awareness, and the role of compassion in the development of resilience. We will explore recent discoveries in brain science and the proven value of awareness training, including the breath and five senses as well as the role of compassion in developing our resilience in everyday life.
Finally, we will explore how we can use all of these valuable tools and insights to create a more fulfilling and healthy life for ourselves, our families and for the wider community.

WHAT TO BRING
ABOUT THE TUTORS
Suzanne Burnett is a health professional with over 25 years’ experience of working with groups and individuals. The modalities Suzanne currently uses are bodywork, movement and mindfulness (based on concepts in neuroscience). These help people to build inner strengths based on experiential understanding. Suzanne has an MSc in Exercise and Health, a Diploma in Sports and Soft Tissue Therapy and is a Breathworks accredited mindfulness trainer. Suzanne uses these approaches in her own life and enjoys empowering people to find their own way of working with them.
Sarah Hillyer is a medical herbalist with 20 years’ experience and a BSc in Phytotherapy as well as a Diploma in Nutrition. She practices from her home in Clanfield and also runs regular workshops, herbal walks and talks. She also has 30 years teaching experience and her passion for teaching is now deeply embedded in all her current practice. Central to her work is a belief that when people are given the opportunity to take control of their own lives, and they do so with passion and commitment, change happens.
