ABOUT THE COURSE
This course is for people wishing to assist in the delivery of Forest School programmes. Practical skills covered include fire lighting, campfire management, safe use of hand tools, games and activities. Participants will also learn woodland identification skills and about the Forest School approach to risk management and learning.
Our Forest School Assistant Training is run by experienced leader and trainer, Adrian Goodhand, and is accredited by the Open College Network West Midlands (OCNWM). Our venue is a pioneering environmental education centre within a 55 acre woodland site, where we are passionate about outdoor learning and providing high quality training.
Students will need to assist on 3 sessions of Forest School run by a qualified level 3 Forest School Leader and write up their observations and complete some coursework assignments to gain the qualification. This level of training is if you want to assist at Forest School. Level 2 training does not qualify candidates to run Forest School programmes independently - the Forest School Level 3 qualification is required to lead Forest School sessions.
