Family Holiday Activities 

Bring your family to an exciting wilderness experience at The Sustainability Centre in the South Downs.

Our survival and nature exploration is inspired by John Muir, the adventurer,    survival expert and botanist. He climbed mountains and glaciers with just an axe and washing line. He survived by creating natural shelters, identifying plants for food, medicine and using traditional wood crafts.

We have designed our activities to be COVID secure and socially distant, whilst still having plenty of fun. With two different workshops each day, families can have a full day out if they choose.

​Wild Family Overnight Adventures  

These wild overnight adventures allow you to bring your family of up to 5 to an exciting wilderness experience which is all part of your overnight adventure.

ACTIVITY
As a family you will spend a morning or an afternoon in our 55 acre woodland with a Bushcraft expert. Have a go at building camp fires, making tools, building shelters, wild foraging and cooking.

£40 per half day activity
Up to 5 people

PLUS 

ACCOMMODATION
Your overnight stay includes accommodation of your choice, with 1 extra overnight space, so you can sleep 6.

Camping - £45 
We have reserved camping pitch 1 which sleeps 6. Bring your own tent and cooking equipment. Our off grid camp site is safe for children and has showers and toilets. A wonderful natural place to begin your adventure.

Hostel - £104 
We have reserved 2 self catering bunk rooms of 3, sleeping 6 all together. There is a large dining room, fully equiped kitchen, cosy lounge area, shared showers and a bathroom.

B&B - £285 
For a bit of luxury we have reserved 3 twin rooms in our new B&B with en suite showers and breakfast provided.

​Wild Ways Workshops are for family groups of 5 with adults, and up to 4 children aged 7+.
​
There are only three family groups per session.

Spend some time in a wild area in harmony with your surroundings. Make a nature book, identify flowers, discover the trees, learn songs and poems and spend a couple of hours soaking in the beauty of our chalk meadows.

Create your own wild area learning how to build a survival shelter so you can live outdoors just like John Muir did in the great wilderness.  Make a camp fire and hone your fire-lighting skills.
