ABOUT THE COURSE
This course is designed for individuals and communities as a guide towards a better understanding of the climate crisis and where you fit in the big picture. Everyone can play a part in tackling the biggest issue of our time; all that matters is choosing to be bold in your own context. Whether you’re a student, a new parent, entering politics, working in music, a farmer, stacking shelves, between jobs, young or old, part of a community group, faith network, or a big organisation, everyone has influence, and everyone can start making meaningful changes. This is exactly what Carbon Literacy helps you uncover; your own power to act and inspire others.
Being aware of your carbon footprint isn’t about being perfect, it’s about being equipped, confident, and connected enough to take the next step, whatever that looks like for you or where you are in life. From the basics of climate science to saving money, from building stronger communities to linking climate action with social justice, this workshop ties it all together.
At the end of the course, participants will think of an individual and group action that they can implement in the near future. This is submitted to the Carbon Literacy Project, then they’ll receive their certification. Their action plan is not followed up! It is designed to demonstrate that they understand the cause and effect of climate change, and have a clear vision on what needs to be done.
