Why now?
We work with schools, community groups and like-minded organisations attracting local people and visitors from all over the world.
We are proud to welcome around 40,000 visitors here a year - visiting our natural burial site, walking The South Downs Way national trail, staying in our hostel and campsite and attending our events, courses and cafe.
We host over 3,000 pupil visits, via the schools programme, and around 7,800 visitors and learners taking part in our courses programme and staying with us each year.
We are ready to grow and realise our full potential, influence more lives, bring practical sustainable solutions to people, places and planet. Our Ready....Steady.....Grow Initiative is gathering support, pace and momentum.
In order to realise this potential we need more and better indoor space. We can achieve this by transforming one of our existing buildings into a New Learning Centre.
The Sustainability Centre was set up by the Earthworks Trust in 1995 as an independent learning and study centre, a beacon for sustainability and an award-winning social enterprise charity in the heart of Hampshire's South Downs. With a holistic, practical and creative approach to education the Sustainability Centre is here to explore how we can all make greener, healthier and more ethical choices. During the past 21 years we have grown into one of the leading centres for outdoor learning and environmental education.
